Christopher Free, a 2006 graduate of Ohio University’s School of Communications and a native of Chillicothe, recently received six Telly Awards for “excellence in internet and online video editing work.”
Free, a video editor for Operation Blessing International in Virginia Beach, Va., received a Silver Telly (the highest award) for his work on an online video in the Social Responsibility category titled “Extreme Blessing,” which highlights Operation Blessing’s relief work in Joplin, Mo., following the devastating tornado of May 2011.
He also received five Bronze Telly Awards, all in the Internet/Online Programs, Segments of Promotional Pieces category, which included segments addressing social issues, cultural, health and wellness, and charitable/not-for-profit topics.
Free’s work was selected from more than 11,000 entries from all 50 states and across five continents. His winning video can be viewed at vimeo.com/26138448.
Besides his undergraduate degree from OU, Free received a master of fine arts degree from Regent University in 2010. He now works as an adjunct instructor for the university.
